Montana Casinos

Montana is impressive in size as the fourth largest state in the entire country. It spans approximately 94 million acres. Montana boasts a sizeable mass of natural forests and millions of acres of protected wilderness. Wildlife is abundant in Montana, including bears, deer, elk, wolves, and antelope. In fact, Montana is home to about 500 species of wildlife. Winters in Montana are usually cold, but without extended periods of freezing weather. In the summer, temperatures typically hover in the 70s.

There are plenty of attractions in Montana, including the National Bison Range, Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, the Charles M Russell National Wildlife Refuge, and Yellowstone National Park. Montana actually shares Yellowstone, the oldest national park in the world, with Wyoming and Idaho. Montana is also home to breathtaking mountains, pristine waters, and relaxing hot springs. Visitors to Montana can enjoy a plethora of activities, from hiking and skiing to dining and shopping. Furthermore, for many visitors, as well as residents, Montana casinos also hold great appeal.

Montana is truly a gambler’s delight. Gamblers can enjoy video poker, bingo machines, and keno in Montana. The maximum bet for these games is $2 and the maximum payout is $800. Many live games are also legal in Montana casinos, such as raffles, keno, bingo, rummy, whist, hearts, cribbage, and bridge. Also available in Montana casinos are fantasy sports leagues and sports pools.

In Montana, bars and taverns are permitted to have and operate up to 20 video gambling devices, allowing patrons to enjoy bingo, poker, and keno. These machines do not pay out cash, as law does not permit that. Instead, machines located in bars and taverns supply the user with a paper receipt, which is redeemed by the establishment’s cashier. Bets are capped at $2, with payouts of $800. As required by Montana gaming regulations, these machines return at least 80 percent.

There are several Indian Montana casinos. These casinos also provide users with paper receipts, redeemable from a casino cashier. The maximum bet in Indian Montana casinos is $2, with a maximum payout of $1000. However, there are no minimum or maximum payout requirements for Montana casinos on Indian reservations.

There are many casinos spread throughout Montana, allowing for quite a large selection of games to play. The names of Montana Casinos, as well as locations and descriptions, can be found quite easily online. To gamble legally in Montana, you must be at least 18 years of age.

High Tech Gamblers and Cheating in Casinos, Casinos are Fighting Back

In Las Vegas many techie types are winning big, too big for the Corporate Casinos who expect to win. The house has to win and the margins are set in advance. High Tech Gamblers and Cheating in Casinos and of course the Casinos are fighting back. Of course you knew they would

http://www.newscientist.com/news/news.jsp?id=ns99994542

Why well because people are cheating: MIT and micro-sensors making progress, Virtual Keyboards, smart dust:

http://robotics.eecs.berkeley.edu/~pister/SmartDust/

Student have been using them under their finger nails to count cards in the CT Indian casinos and the sensors are wired to their watches, displaying the results, pretend I did not tell you that. I refuse to reveal sources. Each time certain cards are played they tap out with their fingers on the table, using certain fingers for certain numbers such as 1's, 3's, 5's and 10. A combination allows the addition to the nearest number. The other hand is used for Jacks, Queens, Kings and Aces. Very clever, just imagine how rich Gates would be if he had that system to augment his card counting abilities in his room at Harvard?

Moral of the Story? Never play cards with a Micro-Sensor Research Student at MIT and as per this article Berkeley either. Gray Davis signed into legislation a bill, which allows Indian Casinos in CA to grow and have more slots. So Berkeley students will not have to go up to Reno to score on the casinos there. Meanwhile as the card counting games continue, Pit Bosses are hiring similar students to put sensors on the table to catch people tapping and more remote hidden video cameras to catch cheaters. You cannot regulate morality can you. Not with the casinos, with the public out to make fast buck, not with the politicians, not with judges or lawyers.

So why are we trying to do this with our businessmen who provide jobs? Seems as if the problem starts in the first grade when Junior tries to steal a candy bar, better watch moms and catch them when they are young and explain integrity.

Old games new rules.

The Obvious and Unobvious Reasons You Cannot Win at Blackjack

Not to blaspheme the Gods and Goddesses of Las Vegas to whom we pay tribute but one cannot win at the game of 21. Shortly you will understand why. In the meantime does Blackjack refer to the Jack of spades or the Jack of clubs? Why does the Jack have 2 heads? Was the name Jack derived from the name John and how did they get from John to Jack? Poor little John John. His mommy wouldn't let him marry Darryl Hannah. "I'll be damned if I have a mermaid for a daughter in law", said Jackie Kennedy as she sipped Ouzo aboard the Christina, her husband's 532 foot yacht cruising the pearl blue seas of the Mediterranean one hot July afternoon in 1969. "But she's not a mermaid mom, that was just a movie." "Movie Shmoovie", said Jackie O, "She's beneath you."

The road to Hell is paved with bad intentions. John the Baptist was doing fine until he laid 3 to 1 on a young Jewish Prince overthrowing the husband of Herodius, which bet caused his head to roll at the behest of a 14 year old lap dancer named Salome who preferred the Royal Palace to a dirt hole in Iraq. Imagine little George "the drinks are on me" Bush captured in a dirt hole in Nevada by 5 Iranian soldiers. Don't worry. It's not going to happen. We have the family guarding Las Vegas, not Fema. Hollywood has hypnotized us with James Bond movies giving us the illusion that our leaders are invincible and will always protect us. That's why 30,000 men, women and children starved to death like Ethiopians 300 miles from Houston for 5 days. When 100 Megaton Muslim Nuclear suicide bombs start raining down on Las Vegas like hail in a Kansas tornado, be sure to call Fema when 10 square miles of the strip are turned into a radioactive parking lot instantly. "Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry, singin' this will be the day that I die, singin' this will be the day that I die."

Before we get into the reason that the house has you dead to rights at the blackjack table, let me ask you a question. Yes, you, the person staring at your computer monitor's white light wishing that I would get to the point already. That is the point. There is no point. "The point is 12, come on shooter, we've got a hot shooter tonight ladies and gentleman." Why do the bells go off and the lights flash when someone gets 2 cherries at the slot machine? Instead of heralding the winners, what would happen if every time that someone lost a bet to the one armed bandit, funeral dirges blasted out over the Pioneer speakers? What if instead of naked women serving free screwdrivers at the blackjack tables men dressed as terrorists served Jimmy Jones Kool Aids? The point is we all die sooner or later so why do we spend our lives terrorized that we or our children will die? Anyone with even one quarter of a brain who pays attention to what's going on in the world today has to be on at least 2 major tranquilizers. And this is an unobvious reason that you cannot win at blackjack. You aren't there to win; you are there to escape into the drunken frenzy of flashing lights and naked women hoping against hope for the big win, so that for once in your life you can be the big hero.

O.K. Lets get serious for one moment. Here comes the reason that you cannot win at blackjack ever. Imagine this scenario. 7 people are sitting at the blackjack table. The dealer is showing a Queen of Hearts just prior to ripping out your heart and eating it. Players number 1 through 6 all bust. The dealer, the house, the casino, Steve Wynn, he shortened it from Weinberg, or Weinstein, or Weinrib or something so that Sheiks would come to "his" resorts, and the family thought that it would be good marketing for Las Vegas to be named after the word "Win". So 6 people have now busted, lost lets say $60 to the house, the casino, and the dealer has done absolutely nothing except stand there silently like a guard outside of Buckingham Palace. Player number 7 has 17. The dealer turns over a 5 for 15 then gives himself a 10 for 25. So he pays out $10 to player 7 who cannot believe that he just won with 17, and the casino just won $50 at this one table on this one hand.

How can this be? How can the dealer beat 6 people with 25? "Elementary my dear Watson, the dealer always plays last. The dealer always plays last. The dealer always plays last."

Imagine the Super Bowl. Dallas is playing New York. The final score is Dallas 21 New York 15 and New York wins. You drew 22, the dealer drew 25, and he won your 10 dollars. He busted out and he beat you because? The dealer always plays last.

Did I mention that the dealer always plays last? This is how the owners of the casinos have managed to build lavish 3,000 room hotels for a hundred years on sand dunes and give away free screwdrivers. If for one night the dealer went first, every hotel in Las Vegas would join General Motors and Ford on the bread lines. China pays its workers 23 cents a day. This fall China is introducing a car into the United States of America called the Gigli. The Gigli looks like a Toyota, sells for $9,000 and gets 218 miles per gallon. It runs on rice. Short GM and Ford with every dime that you had planned on investing in Las Vegas. You will become an overnight zillionaire.

The Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living

It’s arrival day. I just flew into Las Vegas from the East Coast. You’ll soon find out that the traveling is exhausting and seemingly never-ending. You often forget what day it is, let alone the month, and on more than one occasion, I’ve forgotten what city I’m in. The first thing you need to do is buy in to the tournament. A typical major event entry is $10,000.00. Since it seems there’s a major event every other week, this can be an expensive hobby. If you’re not going to play in any satellites or cash games, you probably want to get to bed, because if you get deep into the tournament, you’re looking at some long days.

Most tournaments start around noon; so much for playing all night and sleeping all day (Myth Number One shattered). So after getting up at around 9AM â€" not that I sleep much when I travel â€" I shower, eat and maybe go for a walk. The event today is the $5,000.00 No Limit Holdem Event at the World Series of Poker. It’s noon of day one and time to shuffle up and deal. This is a relatively small field by today’s standards, with 466 entries, but some of the biggest names and best players in the world are here today. This surely won’t be easy. We get started a little late, and what a day: we play for nearly 16 hours before ending day one. We’ve lost nearly half the players. It’s now around 4AM, and thankfully I made it through. Day two starts tomorrow at noon.

I have another restless night and don’t sleep very well. I feel even worse from the jet lag, but it’s back to the tables. Today we play down to the final table, and this could take a while. After surviving a few scares and more than my fair share of suck-outs and bad-beats, I make it to the final table. Nine others and myself, after playing another 16 hours, will be back tomorrow to play for a bracelet.

The final table starts at 3PM, but I draw noon for my interview with ESPN. After yet another sleepless night, I return to do my interview, which goes rather smoothly. Now it’s on to the final table, and what a table it is â€" the likes of Gavin Smith, John Bonnetti, Todd Brunson, John Hennigan and TJ Cloutier. Am I sure this is what I want to do for a living? It’s almost surreal. Before I know it, I’m heads-up, staring across a pile of money that you wouldn’t believe, opposite a true legend of the game. I am playing TJ Cloutier for a World Series bracelet. I have the chip lead for a while, and then we go back and forth. Finally we’re all-in pre-flop A K versus A 5. A flop of 4 6 8 sends an ugly chill up my spine. A harmless J falls on the turn and then, bam!, like a bullet in my stomach, the 7 of diamonds on the river, giving TJ a four line straight. That close to winning a bracelet… my dream has to wait one more year. My share for second place: $352,620.00. Not bad for 43 hours’ work. Since it costs about $500,000.00 per year to stay on tour full time, I’m only $150,000.00 short of realizing a profit. So I guess I’m on to the next venue.

So as you can see, the saying is true: It’s a hard way to make an easy living.

There’s More to Poker than Texas Holdem!

Texas holdem is taking over the world, but believe it or not there are many other poker games you can play. Most of them fall into one of three categories:

- Stud Games (for example 7 card stud)

- Draw Games (for example 5 card draw)

- Shared Hand Games (for example Texas Holdem)

There are also some other obscure games that don’t fit into these categories, some of the more popular of which are high/low pig, bid poker and guts. In almost all types of poker game the hand rankings are the same, with a very few minor exceptions which have become more or less "home-made" rules.

Here are brief descriptions of some different poker games:

5 Card Draw Poker

Played by 3 - 7 players. Each is dealt five cards and there is a round of betting based on the hands. After the betting players can now put up to three cards back in exchange for new ones. (There’s one exception where a player can exchange four cards if he shows the fifth to be an ace). There’s a further round of betting and the best hand wins. Draw poker was once the standard way to play but it has of course been overtaken by Texas Holdem.

7 Card Stud Poker

Played by 3 - 10 players. Players are dealt two cards face down and one face up and there is a round of betting. Cards 4, 5 and six are then dealt face up with betting on each round. The final card is dealt face down and there is another round of betting before the showdown. 7 Card Stud Poker is still a popular game and is probably second at the moment to Texas Holdem.

Caribbean Poker

This is a poker game played in a casino between the player and the dealer. Each gets five cards and the player has to decide whether his card is worth betting on after seeing the dealer’s first card. If the player has a better hand than the dealer he is paid out in a fixed odds system depending on the strength of his hand. The fixed odds range from evens for a pair or high card to 100-1 for a royal flush.

Pai Gow Poker

Pai Gow is a fairly complicated casino game played between the dealer and up to seven players. It is played with a joker which counts as either an ace or any card required to complete a flush or straight. There are two variations in hand ranks compared to standard poker rankings, the highest hand is five Aces and the straight A2345 is ranked second to AKQJT. The players and dealer are dealt seven cards each which they split into two hands of five and two. The five card hand must be better than the two card hand. The dealer then shows his cards and plays against each player, the dealer's five card hand against the player's five card hand and the dealer's two card hand against the player's two card hand.

If the dealer wins both hands he wins.

If the player wins both hands he wins.

If each player wins one hand there's a "push" which means no money changes hands.

If any hand is tied the dealer wins it, so:

Dealer/Tie – dealer wins.

Player/Tie – push.

Tie/Tie – dealer wins.

Texas Holdem

By far the most popular poker game in the world today, probably because it is very simple to learn but extremely difficult to master. Two cards are dealt to each player, then three face up on the table (the flop), another face up on the table (the turn), then a final card face up on the table known as the river. Players use their own two (hole) cards and any three from the table to make the best five card hand. There is a round of betting before the flop then before the turn and river, and finally after the river card is dealt.

Casino Games - Roulette

What would a casino be without a roulette wheel? These elegant red-and-black spinning games of chance are synonymous with gambling. A huge attraction at casinos across the country, the classic roulette wheel remains one of the most exciting casino games available.

Here's how roulette works: the wheel consists of slots or "pockets" numbered from 1 to 36, which are either red or black. The standard American casino roulette wheel also contains two green slots: 0 and 00 (many European wheels eliminate the 00, which creates more favorable odds for players). Casino players can bet on one, two, three, four or six numbers; or they can choose to bet red or black; high or low; odd or even. Single numbers pay the highest, while either/or bets are lowest. In a casino, the person who spins the wheel is called a "croupier." When all bets are placed, the croupier spins the wheel and a ball bounces from slot to slot until finally coming to rest in one of them. A casino roulette wheel is a lively place to be when it's spinning; players love to shout and encourage the wheel to stop in their favor!

The green slots in roulette are where casinos make their money. If the roulette ball lands in the 0 slot, the game ends and all players receive half their original bets back. However, if the dreaded 00 is spun, the House (the casino) keeps all the bets. You can bet that in just about any casino, the croupier is hoping for a big fat double zero.

Even if you play it safe and bet red/black or even/odd, casino roulette is a lot of fun. Unlike other casino games, roulette rounds go by quickly—just a spin of the wheel and the game is over. If you're feeling lucky, you can pack in plenty of casino play at a roulette wheel in a short time. Casinos are the only place to experience the thrill of roulette!

Online Casinos - Reinvest your Wins

The average gambler will take the $50 dollars that they just won at the casino, and go spend it at the shops soon afterwards. The smart gambler will reinvest the money they just won, and will usually win a lot more! The only way to win a lot of money is to reinvest your wins. If you spend all of the money you win, you will have less money to back you up in times of big losing streaks. A large bank roll is the only way to win a lot of money. It helps you in two main ways; firstly, a bigger bank roll means you can place bigger bets. Bigger bets equal bigger wins. Secondly, a bigger bank roll will help you survive long potential losing streaks. Lets face it, it doesn’t matter how lucky you are, eventually, you are going to lose a few times in a row (unfortunately).

Here Are Two Tips To Help You Win More Money At The Casinos:

Tip One - Reinvest Your Wins

If you really want to win big, you have to reinvest your wins. A bit like a share investor who gains money from their stocks through dividends. They don’t just take that money and spend it, but rather they reinvest that money back into more shares. Thats the only way you are ever going to make a lot of money, by learning to reinvest.

Tip Two - Place Larger Bets

If you are betting with money you have just won, it doesn’t matter as much if you lose it. Why? Because this money isn’t really your money. If you lose it, you are losing money that wasn’t yours to begin with. Less risk and less fear usually equals more rewards in the long term!

Poker on TV

Poker on TV has been the catalyst that allows millions of people to view real poker being played by today’s young guns and poker legends. A day does not go by without advertising for another Texas Hold’Em TV poker scheduled event for cable or television. It is becoming the basis for corporate investment in a growing industry and a motivation for players to enter numerous tournaments that offer millions of dollars. Software is being developed for hand held devices and cell phones to play poker. Deals are being made to broadcast live tournaments over the Internet from land based casinos.

And if that’s not enough, then there are a growing number of television shows based on poker. Even charity events are bringing in money for those who need it behind the affection started by televised tournament events. Plus women are coming to the tables in droves, along with magazines on different versions of the game like Texas Hold’Em marketed especially to women. And the end is not in sight for this trend as more people learn to enjoy and watch the game of poker.

With an estimated 50,000,000 people in the United States alone who play the game, corporations began scrambling to capitalize for all the money that could be made when tournament event ratings showed reflection of the public’s appetite. ESPN’s poker audience went from 408,000 viewers in 2003 to 1,300,000 per broadcast in 2004. The 2005 World Series of Poker broadcasts will have over 2,000,000 people watching each televised episode when ESPN starts showing them in June. World Poker Tour episodes will be shown in 60 countries and if Steve Lipscomb has his way this will increase to 200 countries.

And others are close behind with programs like Celebrity Poker and Poker at the Plaza which are pulling in big ratings. Online poker rooms are now becoming a billion dollar industry. They provide many satellite tournaments that anyone can play in to get a chance to be a television star competing for big bucks. Even states within America such as North Dakota, Illinois and Georgia are competing to pass legislation to legalize poker over the Internet for a piece of the revenue pie, despite the direction of the federal government. Outside of the U.S., England is at the threshold of permitting its land-based casinos to take bets online from U.S. citizens.

Proponents of the game state that the effects of the televised tournaments toward society are positive. Enough to where a person can find ″family nights″ for playing being offered by organizations promoting the game. Many of the present day champions have stated that they learned how to play from ages as young as 5 from their parents or relatives at home. Kids and teenagers with guidance can learn how to plan strategy, manage money, solve complex problems and understand the psychology of human beings. But every coin has two sides. A concerned number of people are voicing the opinion that the creation of gambling addicts is taking place. More and more land-based and online casinos are taking this seriously by offering help for gambling addiction and the creation of new programs for assistance for those who have problem issues. Having help available for players will become increasingly important as the enthusiasm of the game goes forward.

Is there a limit to the ″all in″ attitude for Texas Hold’Em tournaments being watched by the public? With retail sales, record ratings for television and cable plus big business pouring millions into it, the trend is still clearly reflecting the upswing. And if state legislation moves in favor of regulation of the online gambling industry for the tax revenue, it might not go away anytime soon. Because no one sits down at a table looking to bust out early, they sit down to win.

My Casino Blackjack Variation Game

I have played millions of hands of blackjack. I started sneaking into the casinos when I was 16. I have played online blackjack, I have counted cards, and worked with a team for a short while. With all that said I have still lost a lot of money at blackjack. The casinos have made it nearly impossible to beat the game.

I still enjoy the game and play on a regular basis. Over the years I have played a variation of blackjack called ″The Take it Leave it Method″. You will not get rich with this method or beat the house, however you will have a lot of fun. This method is based on the fact that blackjack seems to be a game of streaks. When you’re hot your hot, and when your not you’re NOT! So this is what I do-

I play basic strategy blackjack. When I lose I bet the table minimum on the next hand. Lets say $5 . If I lose again I bet $5 again etc. Once I win I take the $5 paid to me and bet $5 again. If I win this hand I leave the $5 paid to me and bet $10 total. If I win again I take the $10 paid to me, and if I win the next hand I leave it for a total of $20. I keep betting this way ″Take it Leave it etc″. Once I lose I lower the bet back down to $5.

I am very strict and never ″chicken out″. It gets very exciting sometimes. If you win a few hands in the row your bets go up very quick. Before you know it you are betting $100-200/ hand. I have had great streaks a few times now. I left a $5 table at the Luxor a few years back with $750 after 45 minutes using this method! And a few months ago in Vegas I left a table with $1200!

You must understand that you can lose much faster this way too!. But it really makes the game more exciting. And you will be surpised at the streaks you notice playing this way. Below is a chart of what you would bet if you kept winning at a $10 table.

Bet$10 Take $10 paid to you

Bet$10 Leave $10 paid to you for a total bet of $20

Bet$20 Take $20 paid to you

Bet$20 Leave $20 paid to you for a total bet of $40

Bet$40 Take $40 paid to you

Bet$40 Leave $40 paid to you for a total bet of $80

Bet$80 Take $80 paid to you

Bet$80 Leave $80 paid to you for a total bet of $160

Bet$160 Take $160 paid to you

Bet$160 Leave $160 paid to you for a total bet of $320

Bet$320 Take $320 paid to you

If you left at this point you would be up $630 !!

Its dificult to go on a streak this long, but it does happen. And when it does you must NOT deviate and lower your bet or the end result won’t be the same.

Have fun
