There are a number gambling halls in the state, most on stationary river boats. The biggest of the Iowa gambling dens is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, a Native American gambling den in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of gambling space, 1,500 one armed bandits, thirty table games, such as 21, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and many varieties of poker; including 3 eatery’s, bimonthly shows, and gaming lessons. Another big American Indian casino is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 slots, and 14 table games. In addition, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 one armed bandits, 36 table games, and four eatery’s. There are several other popular Iowa gambling dens, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 slot machines, and 39 table games.
A tinier Iowa gambling den is the Diamond Jo, a water based casino in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 slot machines, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend river based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 slots, and 14 table games. An additional Iowa riverboat gambling hall, The Isle of Capri, is available all hours, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slots, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. river based gambling hall in Clinton, has 506 slot machines, 14 table games, live productions, and Thursday blackjack matches.
Iowa casinos offer an excellent amount of tax revenue to the state of Iowa, which has enabled the bankrolling of a lot of commonwealth wide projects. Tourism has gotten bigger at an accelerated percentage along with the demand for services and a gain in jobs. Iowa gambling dens have contributed to the growth of the market, and the affection for betting in Iowa is across the board.
